Week 2 - 13 Jan 2020
The first face-to-face EA class is held today. I think less than 20 students attended. Just like in any semesters, there are schedule conflict but it settles really quick.
Today, I gave an overview of EA. I talked about the Pre EA days. The days before EA, the challenges in organization which is to handle complexity and aligning business and IT. These challenges can be addressed by having an EA initiative in the organization. I also talked about the antonym of EA which is system level approach.
An activity that we did today in class is for the students to post pictures that represent enterprise architecture. They are two words here which is Enterprise and Architecture. Enterprise represents a group of people that share a common goal and objective, that have resources, that have culture and has structure. Architecture represents standard and consistency. EA also integrates Strategy, Business and Technology.
It is too early to get reflection for an hour class. What I need to do is to give some materials for the students to read like an article for example to highlight EA and its benefits.
Next I would want students to introduce themselves, assign Case Study 1 for them to read. Record the definition lecture.
In Week 2, we will begin the class with a quiz, the we would do the case study collaboratively. Have to think of the suitable tools to use.
This blog contains entries about my reflection on the course, class notes and activities for the two courses from Week 1 until Week 14.
