Week 1 - Enterprise Resource Planning Jan 2026

My first class for ERP. All I can say is that I didn't follow what I planned when it comes to lecture. In my mind was this learning outcome that I need to achieve. 

I need to improve on the set up. I need a clicker. I need to plan the lesson. I planned the lesson but no clicker means that my movement was quite restricted. So, that was quite troublesome for me. Yes. I also need to bring the whiteboard marker for this class. 

Lesson for the Week

L1 - Functional area, business functions, business process, functional-oriented vs process-oriented, data exchange, input and output for business process.

Student must be able to 

1. Describe functional area, business functions and business process. What is a functional area, business functions and business process. Give an example for each.
2. Describe the drawbacks of functional-oriented approach by giving a scenario
3. Describe why organizations should adopt a process-oriented approach rather than a functional oriented approach
4. Complete the functional areas-> data exchange table
5. Assuming a business process, what are the inputs and outputs for the process.
6. Assuming a business process, identify the data that a functional area shared/exchanged with another functional area. 

We also did an activity on the input and output of course registration system.

So, what I need to do for next lesson:

1. To prepare the lesson plan and embedded in the slides. 
2. Bring clicker and whiteboard marker
3. Duplicate the display. No need for extend display
