Week 10 - Enterprise Resource Planning (For Next Semester. Graded Quiz)

I've been loosing it. I focus on course content but I forget about student well being and discipline. 

I am not happy with the student's lack of respect this semester especially for ERP. Are student's well being contributed to this or it is just their attitude. 

Well being 

Sometimes I wonder, is it too much. Learning in class and out of class. Why not we do ALL of learning in class. The problem will be time. How can we ensure all learning happens in class. The best I think is flip classroom. 1-2 videos and an article before class. In class, quiz on the topic. Right after the lecturer done setting up. Make it timed. Tell the students, that this quiz could be graded under Assignment 3. Make this Assignment 3 as 10%. Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 is 5% each. 

Discipline

This semester's discipline is not as expected. Attendance is still an issue. Students who don't attend from day 1 is easy to handle. But those whose attendance is intermittent. They come this week, they don't come for 2 weeks, then they come for the another week. Totally disrespect for the lecturer who spend time preparing the lesson. It is huge disrespect for me. So, how can we address this? Force them to come. The class slot is a slot that they should be free and available to come to class. Unless, if you have valid reason for not to come, you can come. If you don't come, it means you just don't care. If you don't care, how should I care. 

What Should I do?

• Increase percentage for Assignment 3 to 20%. Quiz, Tutorial submission are part of it. This is to instill discipline and build character. It is not a form of punishment.
• Do flipped classroom. This is my part. I will search two videos and an article for the students to read. Tell the student, based on this video, we will do a quiz and it could be counted as part of Assignment 3. 1 quiz is 2%. 5 quizzes. If student attend and do the quiz, you will get 2%. A total of 10%. 5 tutorials, that will be accumulated to 10%. 
• Simplify Assignment 1 to 5%
• Simplify Assignment 2 to 5%
